Pennsylvania Department of Transportation just released some information about the 2012 PA advanced motorcycle safety course being offered FREE to PA residents. Simply the motorcycle test is available to all skill level operators. From the most basic course can be taken when you only have your PA motorcycle permit, and the state will provide the motorcycle and safety gear to complete the safety course. For beginners completing this course will result in a valid PA motorcycle license.
For the second year the state is offering a 3-wheeled safety course. This course is for those newer 3-wheeled bikes, and will permit operation of only three wheeled "Spyder" motorcycles.
The Can-Am Spyder ("Spyder") is a three-wheeled motorcycle with a single rear drive wheel and two wheels in front for steering, similar in layout to a modern snowmobile. The Spyder uses an ATV-like chassis. The manufacturer refers to it as a "roadster," but in technical terms it is more of what has been traditionally called a trike. - From Wikipedia
There is also an advanced course for riders who want to "brush up" on their motorcycle skills, or those who would like motorcycle insurance discounts. More information about these free motorcycle courses can be found online.
